Store: Product Details
Part of the Projects section of Coddy's Flutter journey. Lesson 21 of 36.
Tap a product in a store and you get its page: a big picture, the price and a few words about it. That is a second screen, ProductScreen, that gets the product through its constructor.
To make a whole card tappable, put an InkWell inside the Card, around its content. It runs onTap and draws the ripple you see in Material apps; the card's Clip.antiAlias keeps the ripple inside the rounded corners.
Card(
clipBehavior: Clip.antiAlias,
child: InkWell(
onTap: () {
Navigator.push(context, MaterialPageRoute(
builder: (context) => ProductScreen(product: product),
));
},
child: Column(...),
),
)The product page is a ListView, so a long description scrolls. Its AppBar shows the product's name and the back arrow, which Flutter adds for you on a pushed screen.
For the big price, start from the theme's headlineSmall and change only what you need with copyWith: textTheme.headlineSmall?.copyWith(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold). The ?. is there because a theme style can be null.
Challenge
MediumGive each product a page:
- write a
ProductScreenthat takes arequiredproduct, with the name in itsAppBar - its body is a
ListViewwith 24 pixels of padding: a 240 pixel high tile inproduct.color.shade50with corners rounded by 24 and the icon at size 120, then 24 pixels, the price (boldheadlineSmallin the primary color), 12 pixels and the description inbodyLarge - wrap each card's
Columnin anInkWellthat pushes the product's page
Try it yourself
